Businessnumbersclear does not run advertising cookies, does not drop a marketing pixel, and does not operate a cross-site tracker on these pages. We use only what is needed to serve the site and to remember whether you have already answered the cookie banner. The banner is visible until you choose Accept or Decline. Your choice is stored in the browser under the key bnc-cookie-choice using localStorage, which is a small store the site can read on later visits. localStorage is not a classic HTTP cookie, but it is storage on your device, so we treat it as part of this notice. We do not copy that choice onto our server as a profile. If localStorage is unavailable — some browsers in private modes restrict it — the banner may appear again on the next visit, which is inconvenient and harmless.

What this site uses
Categories
Technical
The pages themselves are ordinary HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. The host may set a technical cookie that the hosting platform needs in order to route a request or to keep a secure session with the server. We do not use that class of storage to recognise you as a marketing lead. JavaScript on this site also switches a class on the document so that motion effects can run when you allow motion; that class lives in the page for the visit and is not a cookie. The enquiry form includes a time stamp in a hidden field. That value is submitted with the form and is not stored in your browser as a cookie.
Choice storage
When you press Accept, we write the value accept into localStorage. When you press Decline, we write decline. In both cases the banner hides. Decline means we will not add optional storage later; at present there is no optional analytics layer to turn on, so Accept and Decline currently have the same practical effect on this site aside from hiding the banner. We still ask, because the map embed is a third-party frame, and because we may need a recorded choice if the site grows a technical feature that needs one. We will not treat silence as consent. The banner stays until you answer.
How to refuse or clear
Press Decline on the banner. That is the on-page method and it is enough. To clear the stored choice, use your browser’s controls for site data or localStorage for businessnumbersclear.life, or use a private window. After clearing, the banner will show again so you can choose. You can also block cookies and site storage entirely in the browser; the site will still render, the form will still submit, and the banner may keep returning because it cannot remember the answer. We do not provide a second, hidden opt-out form because there is no advertising identifier to opt out of.
Browsers and assistive technology
The banner is a region labelled “Cookie notice” and the actions are real buttons, not pictures. If you browse with JavaScript turned off, the banner remains visible — we do not hide content behind a script — and the rest of every page is readable. Motion on tiles is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion.
Google Maps in an iframe
The footer of every page, and a larger map on the contact page, embed a Google Maps view of 51 Telok Ayer Street using a keyless iframe addressed at maps.google.com with an output=embed parameter. When your browser loads that frame, Google may set its own cookies or read identifiers according to Google’s own policies. We do not send your form fields through that frame, we do not use the Maps JavaScript API, and we do not hold a Maps API key on this site. If you decline optional storage and also block third-party frames, the map may appear blank; the address is still written in text in the footer. Opening Google’s frame is a request to Google’s servers, not to ours. For Google’s explanation of how Maps embeds handle data, read Google’s own documentation. Our reason for the embed is to show where the office is, not to build a location history.
Hosting logs
Separate from cookies, the hosting company processes server logs — IP address, time, requested file — to run the infrastructure. That processing is described on the privacy notice and in the footer. It is not something the banner turns off, because the site cannot be served without a request log of some kind on a shared host.
Changes and contact
If we add a further category of storage — for example a self-hosted analytics log — we will update this notice, and we will not treat an old Accept as covering a new purpose.
